Meet our Director

Robbie Williamson started his journey in the fitness industry working as a sales and PR team member for a highly recognised commercial gym chain. This then led him to complete his Level 2 Fitness Instructor course and Level 3 Personal Training qualifications. From here, Robbie started to train clients within the commercial gym setting however also worked a 9-5 job therefore not initially relying solely on his income from personal training. Throughout his 8+ years in the fitness industry Robbie has completed multiple continuous progression development (CPD) courses and still completes courses to this day with his latest being passing his undergraduate degree in Sports Coaching and Performance with a 2.1. Other specialist CPD courses include Strength & Conditioning, Diabetes Specialist and Mental Health. Before working in the fitness industry Robbie worked at desk job in a busy estate agents after returning from the RAF which didn’t work out for him. Although he enjoyed the business of the estate agent world, he knew his passion was health and fitness. Throughout his career Robbie has faced many barriers including tearing the ligaments in his right knee, finding out he had a lump which turned out to be cancerous and losing his Mum suddenly within a 24-hour window of her being ok the day before. For him, exercising has always been a way to escape the world and turn any negative situations into positives. In doing so, he aims to pass this attitude of using exercise as a positive to help with any barriers or battles people might be going through.

Robbie believes there is not enough support for potential PTs and a lot of people are becoming PTs because they feel it is an easy industry to break into and become successful. Although this might be true, it is the hard work and long days that make you successful in this industry and N.I. Fitness Academy will show potential PTs from Robbie’s own personal experiences just what they need to do to succeed and be branded as successful.

With N.I. Fitness Academy Robbie promises that students do not simply pass their course, leave and are never to be heard off again. He hopes that every student that decides to participate in his programme will stay on and allow N.I. Fitness Academy to continue to mentor, educate and manage their business to ensure they succeed. Robbie does not see anyone as competition and by adapting this mindset students will solely focus on their own business, it’s success and the future plans to be profitable.
